Take dying Easter eggs to the next level. Instead of the traditional egg decorating kit, try using shaving cream or whipped cream. With a few simple supplies, you will be on your way to having beautiful tie-dye finished eggs.
- Hard-Boiled Eggs
- Shaving Cream or Whipped Cream (if you are going to eat the hard-boiled eggs)
- Food Coloring
- Baking Sheet or Pan
* Prepare hard-boiled eggs prior to completing step one
Fill your baking sheet or pan with a thick layer of shaving cream or whipped cream. Use a spatula to evenly spread the cream across the bottom of the pan.
Place drops of food coloring onto the cream. Mix and match colors to achieve a tie-dye effect. The more drops you use, the more vibrant the colors.
Take a toothpick and swirl the food coloring drops you made in the pan. You should start to see that tie-dye effect.
Using a pair of gloves, grab a hard-boiled egg and roll it into the colored cream. Make sure to coat the entire egg.
Place the cream coated egg onto a paper towel to dry for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, wipe the cream off the egg with a paper towel. You have now successfully made a beautiful tie-dyed egg!
