Those vintage ceramic Christmas trees are making a comeback

Yep, you read that right. The ceramic Christmas trees from the 60’s and 70’s are making a comeback! You may remember crafting these with your mother or grandmother back in the day, or you may recognize them from your mother’s annual Christmas decorations. Well, we are happy to inform you that these iconic Christmas tress are a hot topic this Christmas season!

The popular Christmas trees became a hit back in the 40’s, but did not become popular until a few years later. Around the 1990’s these antiques became almost impossible to find. This Christmas season, you can find styles in a variety of colors, sizes, and designs.  New ones are typically battery-operated while antique ones light up with a power cord. While some originals from the 70’s will cost upwards of $70, you can pick up modern versions for a lot less. You can now order these unique and beautiful trees from retailers like, Amazon and a DIY kit from Etsy

Back in the day, many collectors skipped purchasing these iconic trees and crafted them to their very own liking. You can do the same today with one of the many DIY kits on the market from Etsy or Amazon.

Try your luck at finding an original at a local antique shop around Cincinnati:

Whether you buy or DIY, your mom and grandma would be proud!
