The FedEx Rockin Taco Festival will be making its debut at Covington’s new festival venue, Covington Plaza. The event will take place June 25th from 5-11 pm, the 26th from 12-11 pm and the 27th from 12-9 pm.
Located along Covington’s riverbank behind the River Center, Covington Plaza looks to be one of the area’s upcoming hot spots for festivals and events.
“We are excited to be the first festival at Covington Plaza and what a great event to kick off the summer.” said Kerry Schall, Festival Liaison. “We will be celebrating America’s love of tacos. We are encouraging our food vendors to be extremely creative when planning their ‘Taco-Inspired’ menus. I can’t wait to see what they dream up.”
In addition to a mouthwatering food lineup, there will be free live entertainment all weekend long, featuring authentic Latin music and dance. Admission is free.
“Our whole vision for the Riverfront Commons trails and the Covington Plaza space was to redesign our riverfront in a way that reconnects us with the defining geographic feature that – over 200 years ago – literally set the creation of Covington in motion. A three-day festival featuring tacos and Latin music – with the Cincinnati skyline and the Ohio River as a backdrop – will showcase what a cool space this is.” said Mayor Joe Meyer.
Food vendors include Glier’s Goetta, Latin Taste Grill, Fatheads, Wicked Hickory, Texas Joe, Drifter’s Shack and more. Fittingly, there will be a wide variety of beverages including frozen margaritas.
