New Coke is back because Stranger Things will happened

I guess the saying, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” has surfaced at the Coca-Cola company. For the first time since 1985, New Coke is available for consumption.

For those who may not remember…

In 1985 Coca-Cola heavily promoted a new recipe for Coke. When the new recipe arrived on store shelves everyone pretty much revolted. 79 days after the launch, Coca-Cola Classic returned and the new recipe fell into history as one of the worst product launches in history.

Fast forward to today…

The hit Netfilx show “Stranger Things” launches its third season on July 4, 2019. The series takes place in mid-1985. So a marketing venture between Netfilx and Coca-Cola brings back the controversial beverage.

New Coke will only be available online as part of a limited edition collector’s pack. For $19.85, the pack includes one bottle (8 oz.) of Coca-Cola (Classic) with a “Stranger Things” inspired label, one bottle (8 oz.) of Coke Zero Sugar with a “Stranger Things” inspired label, and two complimentary cans of New Coke. All with free shipping.  There are only 175,000 pack available and they start shipping the first week of June. Get them before their gone at cokestore.com

There’s also quite a bit of New Coke memorabilia available for purchase including t-shirts.
