Move over bananas and make way for peanut butter bread! Based on social media, it seems many people are baking their way through quarantine. A new favorite seems to be emerging and it’s a recipe that dates back to the depression era. It was first featured in a 1932 edition of the Canadian cookbook “Five Roses: A Guide to Good Cooking” by Elizabeth Driver. Thanks to YouTube and Reddit, it’s gaining lots of popularity in home kitchens across the country. Like it was in the Great Depresssion, people are now finding themselves with limited supplies in the pantries. That’s was makes this 6-ingredient no yeast bread so appealing.

What you Need:
All Purpose Flour – 2 cups
Sugar – 1/4 Cup
Baking Powder – 4 teaspoons
Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
Milk – 1 1/3 Cups
Peanut Butter – half cup
What You Do:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt
Stir in Milk, then peanut butter.
Transfer to greased loaf pan and bake for 1 hour.
