CINCINNATI, Ohio (CINCY WEEKEND) -Multi-Grammy award-winning Blue singer/songwriter Buddy Guy and ten-time Grammy-nominated Americana folk/blues musicians John Hiatt and the Goners will be touring together and making a stop to Cincinnati this summer.
According to officials with the musicians, the duo will be performing at the Taft Theater on Saturday, July 30 at 8 p.m. and will be featuring Sonny Landreth.
Guy, 83, will be promoting his eighteenth solo LP The Blues is Alive and Well which is a follow-up to his 2015 album Born to Play Guitar.
“I went to sleep yesterday and woke up and all the great blues players are no longer with us. Muddy, Wolf, B.B.—they’re all gone. Before they passed away, when they were in their prime, we used to have a drink and a laugh and talk about how when one of us is gone, the others have to keep it going. I’m trying to do something to keep this music that I love so well alive,” Guy said.
Tickets for the concert will go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster or through the Taft Theater box office.
