We've been hearing a lot about the Vampire Facial, but what exactly is it? Check out the entire process and what it's supposed to help with.
What exactly is a Vampire Facial? Well, for starters, it’s not scary like it sounds. The Vampire Facial was originally popularized by Kim Kardashian back in 2013 and while the star talked about the pain, Dr. Marcovici of Aesthetic Medical Center in Myrtle Beach says a lot has changed since then. Now, numbing cream is applied to the patient prior to treatment so you don’t feel anything and blood is no longer used, only the plasma. Dr. Marcovici says the treatment has evolved over the years and more has been discovered about the benefits of using the plasma and micro-needling. We stopped in at Aesthetic Medical Center and tried the treatment for ourselves to see what the hype was all about.
We quickly learned that it’s true, you don’t feel anything throughout the process and downtime was a breeze. I was literally enjoying the beach the next day, with sunscreen and a hat, of course, and even wore make-up just 8 hours after the treatment. Dr. Marcovici stresses the importance of safety in his office and says it’s imperative that you go to a reputable place like his if you’re getting a treatment like this done. We tracked our progress over a couple of weeks following the treatment and it was clear that skin tone was brighter and more even, pores were smaller, and there was an overall glow. The PRP, or Vampire Facial, regenerates collagen and stimulates growth and cell turnover to make your skin look younger, brighter, and more even. Come along with us and take a look at the entire process from start to finish.
