Tied To The Neighborhood – The Story of “Pleasantry”

Natural wine, delicious fresh food and really, really good coffee.

“Pleasantry” co-owner Joanna Argus Kirkendall admits that she wasn’t really interested in getting into food. 1215 Wine Bar and Coffee Lab was already a big hit for craft coffee and wine fans in Over-the-Rhine, so where did the change of heart come from? According to her, it was probably the 2 people helping run “Pleasantry” right now: co-owner Daniel Souder and Chef Evan Hartman.

Together, these three have created a spot in a more residential part of Over-the-Rhine that continues to get high praise from all over. Offering only natural wine, fantastic coffee from Deeper Roots and an ever changing menu of delicious and seasonal Midwestern food, “Pleasantry” is here to bring something new to the neighborhood.
