Cleveland-based brewery Platform Beer Co. has big plans for Over-the-Rhine.
On Thursday, the company announced plans to open a third location called “LOCOBA by Platform” at 1201 Main Street this Summer, with a goal of marrying beer, coffee, and barrel aging.
The location will have early operating hours offering a place for people to grab coffee and pastries in the morning and lunch in the afternoon. At night, the space will transform into a tasting room featuring Platform beers, wine, and cocktails.
“When considering a Cincinnati Location, we wanted to do more than just a tasting room. We saw an opportunity to have a space that could do creative things with coffee, beer and spirits barrels.” says co-owner Justin Carson.
Carson also says Platform has plans to brew and barrel-age beer on site.
According to a press release, Platform has already partnered with Cincy roaster Coffee Emporium to begin soaking beans for the OTR location, with plans to can cold-brew coffee later this year.
The news comes during a big week for Cincinnati beer, after plans were also announced to open a new brewpub in Silverton.
