Inside Look: The Braxton-Graeter’s Collaboration Beer

The announcement of this beer lit up the city. See how it all happened.

Few announcements have united the Tri-State with a feeling of pure joy like the one Braxton Brewing made last week. After months of super-secret testing, they’re releasing a collaboration beer with Graeter’s: the Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Milk Stout.

Take a minute to let that sink in.

As soon as we heard the news, we had to get the story first hand. Co-Founder and head brewer Evan Rouse was kind enough to take us behind the scenes and tell us the story of how this mega-hyped beer came to be. The short answer? 2 local families with a passion for hand made, quality products.

So… where can I get it?

The first tapping of the beer will be on Friday, February 3rd at 6 p.m. at the Braxton Brewing taproom in Covington (get directions here.) Forewarning, it’s gonna be packed. However, there will be extra beer stations outside with a heated tent, live music and 4-packs for sale in the garage. Totally worth it in our opinion.

Can I get it in stores?

If you’d rather just wait for it to be in stores, you’re in luck. Starting on Monday, February 6th you’ll start to see them pop up at every Kroger store in our area. It’s also being distributed in Louisville, Lexington and Dayton. If you’re wondering how long it will last, there’s no way of knowing, but we recommend getting some early!
