Learning How To Make Wine At Hanover Winery

Ever wondered where that glass of vino came from?

About 40 minutes north of Fountain Square, hidden away on a quiet road in Hanover Township, you’ll find Eddie McDonald in his barn making wine on any given day.

In fact, since he opened Hanover Winery in 2009 he’s gotten a lot of national attention for the wine coming out of that barn. But be honest with yourself, did you know about Hanover Winery? For many, it’s been a beloved hidden gem of the northern suburbs.

We heard the buzz and decided to start a long project: meet Eddie and film him making his latest batch of Malbec. The process took a couple months of filming to capture everything that goes into making wine from scratch, by hand, the old-fashioned way. Watch and learn from the master.
