With a month to go before Coney Island’s May 25 Opening Day, the park has released its May 2019 event calendar.
For example, its Mother’s Day Brunch in Moonlite Gardens or Moonlite Pavilion will feature an all-you-can-eat buffet with all the brunch classics plus a few surprises, and a ticket to the 50th anniversary of the Appalachian Festival, an event that sells out every year.
Here are the upcoming events for the month of May:
Food Truck Rally
Saturday, April 27
2 – 10 p.m.
Bring your appetite and help support the Tri-State Food Truck Coalition benefiting Mt. Washington School Foundation. Gourmet food trucks will fill all your hunger needs, along with music, cold beer, kids’ games, and more! Parking is $5. coneyislandpark.com
Appalachian Festival – 50th Anniversary
One of the springtime’s most popular family festivals held along the scenic Ohio River at historic Coney Island. This three-day festival features traditional Appalachian music, handmade crafts, storytelling, dancing, an authentic pioneer village, mouthwatering food, and much more. Mother’s Day Brunch

It’s Mom’s Big Day so treat her to a delicious all-you-can-eat brunch buffet in the iconic Moonlite Gardens or Moonlite Pavilion at Coney Island. Battle of the Brews
Friday, May 17
Heads up beer fans. Raise your glass to the Battle of the Brews! It’s both a craft beer tasting and a competition between the breweries involved. Held in historic Moonlite Gardens, Battle of the Brews brings together craft beer, live music, great food, and games. This event is from 7 PM to 11 PM and is $12.00 for admission which includes 5 tastings and a souvenir tasting glass, additional tastings and full beers available for purchase. coneyislandpark.com
Autism Speaks Walk
Saturday May 18
8 a.m. – Noon

Tribute to Elvis and Rock ‘n’ Roll
Saturday, May 18
Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to enjoy an Elvis tribute and DJ Mark Elliott. Performances also include Jeannie Marie and Marilyn Sparks from “The Avenues.” Dance with Steve for donations to American Cancer Society Relay for Life. WWII-style Swing Dance and USO Show

6 – 10 p.m.
Featuring Tom Daugherty Orchestra’s “Swing Canteen” Recreating Glenn Miller’s Army Air Corps Band and Swing Dancers from the Cincinnati Lindy Society. A ceremony will honor our local Veterans. Prizes awarded for best period dress and authentic uniforms and a chance to win a free ride in a B-17 WWII bomber! Tickets are $17 in advance or $20 at the door. Parking is $10.
