‘Boom on the Bridge’ Returns to the Purple People Bridge During Labor Day Fireworks

The Newport Southbank Bridge Company announced that its ‘Boom on the Bridge‘ will return to the Kentucky side of the Purple People Bridge on Sunday, Sept. 1, from 6PM – 10:30PM.

Labor Day party-goers will once again have the opportunity to take in the spectacular views of the Western & Southern/WEBN fireworks display from the best vantage point on the Ohio River while also helping to paint and maintain the 147-year-old bridge, which now serves as pedestrian-only link between Newport and Cincinnati.

Tickets for the end-of-summer fireworks viewing party and fundraising event, which is open to the public, cost $125 per person for adults and teenagers, $50 for children aged 3 to 12, and no charge for children under the age of 3. Tables for 10 can be reserved for $1,200 a table. Tickets can be purchased online at www.purplepeoplebridge.com/boomregistration.

Tickets are available at the $125 price until Friday, August 23. After August 23, ticket prices will increase to $150. After August 30, tickets will no longer be available.

Ticket purchases include beer and wine — two tickets per person for alcoholic beverages (and cash bar availability, too) — as well as soft drinks and water; unlimited grill-out food; live music before and after the fireworks by Model Behavior, a high-energy cover band featuring music from the 80s, 90s and today; and a free parking pass for every two tickets purchased. Attendees will be able to view the fireworks show while listening to the WEBN fireworks soundtrack on the southern end of the bridge.
